Resourcing and Cadence

IN ONE SENTENCE
Production is usually not the constraint; topic space, technical groundwork and genuine off-site participation are.
The three page types need different resourcing: structured and glossary pages can be templated and produced in volume, while opinionated depth pages need judgement. Production is usually not the constraint — topic space, technical groundwork and genuine off-site participation are.
OUR POSITION
Resource against the constraint, not against page count. Adding writers does not speed up a blocked technical layer, and raising output once topic space is exhausted only produces thin pages.
What each page type needs
Glossary and structured pages: templatable, low resourcing, with most cost in data preparation and proofing.
Opinionated depth pages: need judgement and domain experience, high resourcing, and **do not accelerate linearly with headcount** — judgement does not parallelise.
Off-site and community: need people participating under their own names over time, which is the hardest piece to outsource.
The three real constraints
Technical groundwork: column routes, templates, structured data, internal links. Without them, finished pages have nowhere to go or are not fetched — and adding writers does nothing.
Topic space: depth pages are limited by how many real questions exist, not by writing speed. When it runs out, stop rather than lowering the bar.
Genuine off-site participation: community and review output depends on willingness to participate over time and on customers agreeing to be named.
What sets the cadence
The feedback cycle, not production. Indexing and ranking feedback takes two to four weeks to settle, and batch intervals should match that.
Direction comes from band review: since this category returns almost nothing past eleven, every cycle needs a decision to cut, not only to add.
